10am – 3pm, Hereford
This full-day, in-person workshop is part of Our Place (OP), a three-year Arts Council England Place Partnership programme. Our Place is delivering co-created, place-based cultural activity across Leominster, South Wye, Hereford, and the Golden Valley, seeking to transform cultural access, improve wellbeing, and strengthen local creative ecosystems in underserved rural communities.
The training supports the programme’s commitment to Creative Health – the practice of engaging with arts, culture, and creativity to benefit the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. It will give Creative Practitioners a foundational knowledge of the Creative Health sector.
The day will cover four key sections:
- Understanding the Creative Health Landscape
- Creative Health Project Design
- How to Approach Funding
- Care (for Self & Others) in Creative Health Work
The workshop combines knowledge sharing from facilitator Daniel Regan with participatory activities, reflecting OP’s values of co-creation (making cultural work with, not for, communities) and peer learning (reciprocal professional development).
Who is this for?
This training is designed for artists, producers, and arts workers who want to:
- build a deeper understanding of Creative Health,
- learn what to consider when designing projects,
- gain confidence in writing funding applications, and
- embed care (for self and others) into working practices.
It is relevant whether you are just starting out in Creative Health or have some experience and want to strengthen your skills.
