Tell Me What You Want: Artist Call-out

Location
Bromsgrove
Closing Date

Beatfreaks & the Bromsgrove Arts and Culture Consortium are looking for artists to create new work for the town's Christmas Lights event in November 2019.

"Do you carry out work in the arts or heritage in Bromsgrove? Or do you live in Bromsgrove and work in the creative sector? Maybe you perform in a band, carry out photography, paint, write, dance, shoot films?

"We are calling out for individuals and organisations who make, produce and present/exhibit/perform work in any art and heritage medium (or media) and who live or work in Bromsgrove district to respond to one of four provocations illustrating attitudes towards the arts in Bromsgrove. Work in absolutely any field related to creativity and heritage will be considered.

"We are looking for thought-provoking, engaging proposals, suitable for small indoor spaces (although the option exists to take the work outdoors) and accessible to the general public, to be shown at a one-day celebratory event in November 2019."

They are seeking four artistic responses to four provocations - statements which "reflect the most common concerns on the subject of creativity in the participants’ lives".

Those provocations are:

  1. It’s too late for me to start.
  2. I am not creative.
  3. You can’t make art if you have children.
  4. Art is too expensive.

The fee is £750 and you can find out more by heading over to www.beatfreeks.com/bromsgrovecalloutdetails.
