This month’s curator is the Beryl Bikes team, with lots of local knowledge contributed by their partners in Hereford: Pedicargo and Herefordshire Council.
Beryl Bikes are available for instant hire in specially marked Beryl Bays across Hereford and are a great way to get around the city when you’re going to an event. For events further afield, Day Passes are available so you can get out into the county and cycle to the events.

To celebrate our launch in Hereford and the warm welcome we’ve received in the city, we’re hosting the first Hereford Free Week together with Herefordshire Council. The free week is funded by a grant from the Department of Transport.
You don’t need to do anything to access the free rides other than have an active Beryl account. All Beryl Bike rides in ending in a bay will be free for the week, and any minutes you might have on your account wont be used during this time.
If you haven’t given the bikes a go yet, here’s a great excuse to download the app and go for a ride. Just be sure to select pay as you go, or buy a minute bundle to use after the week is up!

Love to Ride is a challenge taking place globally to get more people cycling, and participants in Hereford can take part using a Beryl Bike! Earn more points the more you ride, and see how you stack up against thousands of other people using pedal power to get around. It’s free to register and there are great prizes up for grabs including a 400-minute bundle for Beryl Bike riders.

We’ve picked out a few shows that look interesting and inspiring, but be sure to check out the extensive list of artists and venues working across the county and plan a route to see as many as you can. Remember that most of H.Art Week coincides with Hereford Free Week, and all Beryl rides in Hereford that end in a bay will be free of charge!

We’re always on the lookout for a good mug for our coffee or hot chocolate, so a whole exhibition of ceramics caught our eye.
Watch artists as they work and see how versatile ceramic can be in the exhibition space - at venue 5 on Hereford's Foley trading estate.

Support a new generation at this exhibition by artists who are either undergrads or postgrads from Herefordshire College of Arts. Those exhibiting include Melaine Gale, Elley Westbrook, Libbertine Vale, Omar Majeed, Ian Pennell, Karen Meiklejohn, Sophine Dainty and Jo Ferguson.

A chance for Pink Floyd fans to relive the incredible atmosphere of a live concert. The show includes live musicians, video projection and an incredible light show.

This was suggested to us by several of our partners, so it must be good! Get the weekend off to a great start with a good laugh thanks to a cracking line up of comedians. You can also get a Comedy Curry from the Courtyard bar before the show.

The jewel in the crown of Hereford, the Cathedral will be hosting an open day to celebrate its heritage. Exactly what’s happening is up to the public, so check out the Cathedral’s social media channels to vote for your favourite activities!
Closest Beryl bay to the Cathedral: King Street
Swap two wheels for two feet and join in the first run in the beautiful parkland at Berrington Hall. The run will raise money for the project to restore the walled garden in the grounds of the hall and it’s a completely different way to explore the grounds.

Closest bay: Berrington Hall is outside the Beryl Zone, but if you’re up for a challenge you can buy a 24 hour day pass to cycle out to the venue.
It’s hard enough to be able to play one guitar well. So being able to play two at the same time as well as write songs and sing them is seriously impressive. Check out Rodney Branigan upstairs at De Koffie Pot in Hereford for one of their Friday Live sessions.
